On the architecture side I decide how those systems hold together: which model fits which task, where retrieval belongs, how context and data boundaries are drawn, and what evaluation, human-in-the-loop review and cost and latency limits a design has to meet before model output is allowed to reach production. A large part of my work is API development and integration. I design and build REST and API-first services, define the contracts between systems, and connect payment providers, CRMs, ERPs, order and inventory systems, analytics platforms and authentication providers. I work in Node.js, TypeScript and JavaScript with React and Next.js, deploying to Cloudflare, AWS, Google Cloud and Azure, and I own performance, security and maintainability rather than handing them off. I have built for e-commerce storefronts, membership sites, internal tools and reporting systems, and media streaming services. Alongside this I am a Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect and Certified Agentforce Specialist with 14 years on the platform, working across Composable Storefront, Salesforce Managed Runtime, SCAPI, OCAPI, SLAS and Script API. I design headless, MACH-aligned e-commerce architectures and lead integrations with OMS, CRM, ERP, payment and cross-border systems for large-scale retail. I did not start in web development. My first years went into systems: running networks, automating warehouse processes, and teaching computer science in a class I founded for people who had no other access to it. I moved into web development in 2010, working in ColdFusion, PHP and JavaScript, then into e-commerce platform work a year later, and through technical lead into architect roles. Applied AI is the next step in that line rather than a break from it. Away from the keyboard I play and write music, mostly at the piano, and I am slowly teaching myself guitar.
